i take medicine for depression and it has improved my life but i still get sad sometimes like right now. i just feel blah. i hate it and just wish it would go away. i just feel empty like.......ugh i just dont know. see i cant even explain myself right now. what should i do.?Health Question & Answer

Don't be sad please. You made me laugh earlier with just a lmao. So you have some charm. And everyone gets down sometimes, but remember that it will pass. Don't be hard on yourself. Sometimes you just need to get out of the house, listen to some good tunes, hang with some friends, hang with a pet, sing and dance like a goofball around the house, or eat something sweet like a big bowl of frozen blackberries with sugar all over them (that's what i do.) I know what you're going through. Depression medication can sometimes make things worse, but everyone gets sad sometimes, and living with depression is a hard thing to do. I've been off depression meds for about 3 years and I still get some of the old feelings sometimes. But you should just occupy your time with something that sounds interesting or something that you already like to do. If you don't feel that your medication is working, talk to your doctor and see if you can get a higher dosage or if you can try taking a different pill to see if that will work better for you. I was on prozac and that made things worse for me, and I've heard alot that prozac doesn't help as good as other medications do, so if you're on that, you may wanna consider switching. every one gets sad...if we didnt get sad then we wouldnt be happy..kindalike if there was no light there will be no dark or like we cant have good without bad..

but you need too think about why your sad and why you feel that way and find away too fix it..maybe if your wrote you feeling down like make it into a poem or something..i been put on stuff for depression but i dont think i was ever depressed some docs. like too just throw stuff at you but sometimes its not the cases or it dont help if you are maybe you need to be put on something alittle stronger..i play guitar and what not soo i have a pile of notebooks that i have with a bunch of stuff i wrote it may not be good or make sense sometimes but when i get sad i write and it helps...yu cant let it all bottle up thats the worst thing you can doo Health Question & Answer

Things I Do To Feel Better When I'm Sad Or Upset.


I love to hear music, exercise, walk, and take a drive. It relaxes me and helps bring me back to a more stable mood.

I go to the gym. I have found it has helped my depression greatly. I have a friend go with me so when those days come that I can't get out of bed, he is there to make sure I'm going! It has helped with seasonal and situational depression.

I like to write poetry it helps me to get the feelings out without becoming distressed

Wow! I love to write poetry too... It has always helped me "let go" of feelings that become unorganized in my head or difficult to verbally express. I have always been very emotional. When I feel things I feel them strongly... My poems were drenched in that kind of stuff. I'm also very creative.

For me its lke an escape lie when im reading or writing nothing bad can touch me "from here the only way you can go is up"

I have depression to. Don't worry, everyone has lows. I see a Youth Worker once a week and it's really great. I reckon you should go find someone you can see regularly like a counsellor or something. They can help you come up with ideas of what to do when you feel like this.

Some good ones are:
Reading
Going for a walk
Watching a movie
Hanging out with a friend
Talking on the phone to someone
Taking a long bath

etc.

You might want to consider seeing a psychologist. They work more on the behavioral issues that come with depression. You would still take your meds but it can sometimes help get together the parts of your life you aren't so happy with as a result of being depressed.Health Question & Answer

awww yeah, that sucks. you'd be surprised how many people have the same feelings....it's rough to get through the low points, but i think it helps me to surround myself with friends so i'm not alone and thinking sad thoughts. i usually don't want to at first but once i get up i feel better.Health Question & Answer

i have that same problem...i had to have my meds changed a few times. yet no matter what i still get those days where i just cry for no reason and when my husband asks whats wrong all i can say is i dont know. its not curable but it is controlable. just keep taking your meds or ask your doctor to change them and see what happens Health Question & Answer
