Question: What Medicine is 100% effective for Panic Attacks before going on a 10 Hour Flight.?
I suffer from Panic Attacks for the past 2 Years, and I struggle to go in Public because of it. My Family would like for me to go to Europe for the Holidays, and that is only possible by Plane. I have had already Panic Attacks in Buses, Cars, and Taxis. What Medicine can I take, that is 100% effective, to get me thru a 10 Hour Flight without having a Panic Attack.? Once the Plane is in the Air, I dont think that the Pilot will be able to turn around. I used to love to fly, but since my Panic Attacks Iam just terrified. Does anybody had similar Experience.? you should go to a doctor who can help and prescribe the appropriate medication for you. also you should have the doctor write a note for you to travel with, so if you do have an incident you dont get arrested for disrupting flight. have a travel companion who can help you navigate and relax you.

If it were me, I would take the klonopin for a longer lasting calm. But it takes longer to kick in.
The Xanax kicks in sooner and has a stronger effect, but doesn't last as long.
I have a prescription for both, and in this case, I would take them both.

I would say Diazepam or Lorazepam. They have a fast onset and a longer half life. Before you get on the plane I would get 10mg of diazepam or 1mg of Lorazepam. There is also a form of xanax its called XANAX XR that might be good also.

I use Klonopin ...it's a pretty strong narcotic that my doctor presribed, but it works ! I only take it when I know I'm getting an attack, or I know I'm going to be in a place (like an airplane) where I can't get away.Health Question & Answer
