What drugs were here 200 years ago.? Well, like the bible says, knowledge has increased. But, it is the way we have 'allowed' our knowledge to be coerced into a behaving. Take the young now who go to the doctor. They 'behave' in a way to show a sickness that they may not have to get some attention that they're not getting or to prolong a habit. Well, doctors may know that and to satisfy the need from both sides, they'll give them the drug. There are drugs now that do more harm than good, but the public has relied on the words of doctors for so long and the doctors are relying on the pharmaceutical industry to boost the health of the public. Because the air quality, the water, and the food are getting a little dangerous, the doctors can't help that, but the doctor can't fix a broken mind and neither can drugs.

Over 200 yrs.? Absolutely!!
First of all is versatility. There is virtually every pill available to treat some kind of symptom, where for centuries, herbs were used.
Drug companies and their advertising borders on pathetic and has created a "Quick fix, pill happy society"and exploit having created a hypochondriac society by driving the cost of medications sky high. ( We live in a time where we monitor ourselves for certain symptoms to see if we have any as aired on TV commercials just in case we need the product they are pushing on you.....and it works!!). Little wonder some people turn out to be addicts.
Did folks 200 yrs ago reach for a quick fix when they had a little headache or muscle strain.? They relied on only what was available to them in the form of herbs, ointments made from herbs and chicken grease, a dip in the icy river, and alternative ways.

People DO NOT think it's more normal... They know more now about the harmful effects of drugs then they ever knew... Not even 100 years ago Cocaine was included in a coca cola that you could buy at the grocery store
Exstasy was first sold in bars in texas as an alternative to drinking... LSD used to be a way to set your mind free... etc..
There are tons of examples of how drugs are more harmful for you now and the government advertises the bad side effects... even in the 60's and 70's drug use was way more rampant then it is now.

Its' gotten more strict and more rigid. I think everyone realizes the "war on drugs" is a joke, its a waste of money waste of resources and makes things worse. No-one wants to be the person to take a logical stance on this issue though because other politicians will accuse them of being soft on crime or condoning drug use when in reality its just being practical. I personlaly think our country could get out of a lot of the debt its in by stopping wasting money on fighting drugs and by collecting tax money frm them.Health Question & Answer
yes in todays age and generation drugs are more accepted . eg. when i was younger i thought that whoever took cannabis was related to the devil but nowadays i know many people who do it which is sometimes hard to watch but it has definetly changedHealth Question & Answer
