Anyone taking Lexapro?!

Question: Anyone taking Lexapro.?
Ive been on it for almost two weeks. I was put on it because of stress. I just don't feel like myself anymore. I'm usually really social and I have no desire to talk to anyone and I'd rather be alone. I feel sick in the mornings and I have a really hard time waking up. I cant multitask anymore and I feel like I kinda just daydream or zone out. Is this normal.?.?.?.? Does the medication just need to regulate in my body or should I not be taking it.?.?.?.? Please Help!! Thanks!!!! Health Question & Answer

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety. I've been taking that for over a year and a half, and it's working very well for me.

It does take the Lexapro anywhere from four to six weeks to reach its full effectiveness - so you still have some time to go for that.

The first couple weeks or so, while your system is becoming acclimated to the Lexapro, you can have some "weird" side effects. I had very vivid dreams, that eventually went away.

You didn't say what dose you're taking, or when you take it. I'd encourage you to take it in the evening, before you go to bed. If you're taking a large dose - say 20mg - you might cut them in half for a couple weeks to "ease into it" more gracefully.

It is a good medication - give it more time before you give up on it.

I started taking 10 mg exactly a week ago from today and 50 mg Seroquel. I felt like a walking zombie, the rooms were blurry, all I wanted to do was waste time on the internet, and I even forgot the names of some of my friends when I was talking to them. Tuesday, however, my psychiatrist told me to get off of Seroquel and take 20 mg of Lexapro, and ever since then, I've felt amazing. Then again, I was put on it for major depression and mild anxiety, and I feel I have tons of energy right now. I'm not sure how it reacts for stress though. No pill can relieve stress, but it can relieve the anxiety you feel from it, if you do feel anxious. Best wishes.Health Question & Answer

I was on Lexapro too. That stuff sucks!!! I didn't feel like myself either. I felt very unemotional and robotic. I stopped taking it after awhile. I don't recommend these mental health drugs for anyone. I knew a few people who took paxil and they acted up a lot worse on that drug then when they started. If you are stressed out i would recommend meditation, going for a walk, listening to relaxing music. Anything but a pill. One day perhaps the world will realize that all of the answers to problems do not come in pill form.Health Question & Answer

No! get off of it now!! I was on it when i was in Jr.High and it made my depression alot worse...and it gave me severe suicidal thoughts, it did not help me at all...i thought it just took a little getting used to,but i had to be placed in therapy and it made my problems multiply. Word of advice: If your already having these issues with it like i did IT will only get worse!! Best of luck to you!Health Question & Answer
