Am I delusional about my bad teeth?!

Question: Am I delusional about my bad teeth.?
This is embarrassing but one of my front teeth, (to the left of my front two) got pushed back over time as a result of crowding. Right before I got it pulled my tongue just fit into the space between this tooth and my front teeth/ canine tooth.

I got this tooth pulled five years ago, when I was 23. All of the relationships that i had prior to this tooth being removed were short lived and I now think that my crowded teeth made kissing uncomfortable. One girl mentioned that I should see a dentist, after three months of dating. I knew that I could not afford braces and didn't see that the simple solution was to have the tooth removed.

I feel that my crowded teeth contributed to my loneliness and depression. I cannot forgive myself for not fixing the problem sooner. I now remember my friends telling me to get this fixed, or in some cases mocking me, although at the time I took it as sarcasm.

This issue has become an obsession for me. I think about my teeth all day long and have just made the first steps in seeking mental health treatment.

Would one misplaced tooth interfere with kissing that much.? Were the girls I dated to scared to tell me.? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Health Question & Answer

I don't think crooked teeth are a problem, unless they are rotten. I think it's good that you have decided to see a therapist. Perhaps your anxiety about your teeth or appearance was the route of the problem.? Like a self- fulfilling prophecy.? Besides, I don't think your girlfriend would have waited 3 months to find you unattractive. I think the ugliest man can be attractive if he is confident. I think this may explain my strange crush on Rainn Wilson, from the Office.
You need to get past this or your anxiety will also affect your future relationships.Health Question & Answer

I believe you are over thinking this one, my friend. You were 23 when you had it fixed. Relationships at that age are supposed to be short lived. That is called youth. If I cared about someone crowded teeth would not be an issue. Let it go. Be at peace you have a many years ahead.Health Question & Answer

i don't think it would affect dating much, especially if the girls you dated really loved you. they would care about your personality, not your teeth. and it probably wouldn't interfere with kissing.Health Question & Answer

If you are so very concerned about your teeth get them fixed.
There are many options.
Check them out.
Don't make yourself miserable over something that can be fixed.
Whatever happened in the past is gone.
What you do in the future is what counts.

Have you ever considered invisalign, or veneers.? Depends on what doctor you go to, and your insurance, but you can get them at a pretty good price, if it helps you feel better about yourself, I'd look into it!Health Question & Answer
