How do I eliminate my mind's need to be distracted by illusions in life?!


Question: How do I eliminate my mind's need to be distracted by illusions in life.?
And how can I remain in a constant spiritual, undistracted, good mood.? It is hard to describe the mood I am trying to describe. But sometimes I feel like I am so happy...just because I been inspired, enlightened, liberated from something which has hung on to me somehow (mostly negativity) or I am just happy. But other times, I am brought down by distractions and illusions of life... even simple things.

I have a feeling it is an imbalance of the chakras. Because usually after a shower or maybe something else different or remaining in a different environment, everything seems to change and I see things in a different light and I feel magnificent deep within. A deep happiness.

What are some ways/practices/techniques in which I can remain in that mood or get out of that lousy, distracted by illusion mood.? I have a feeling controlling the mind could help a lot. I know when it wanders, it can become chaotic. How do I stop it from getting chaotic when I am in that baddish mood.? It is easy when I am in the spiritual enlightened mood...

Ok. Well I had the same problem as you and its taken me a VERY long time to learn how to control my emotions because that is basically all it is, controlling your emotions. Everyone is different and you can ask heaps of people what to do and how to do it but you are the one that has to find YOUR light. Things that distract my mind: movies, studying, candles, burning lavender oil, painting, and talking on the computer. It can be anything! I live my life by the saying "DO OR DO NOT, THERE IS NO TRY"-YODA. Kind of weird but it works for me. Focus on your mental strength and making it stronger. When you feel yourself slipping into a depressed state hoist yourself up quickly think of your "light" or do something that you can focus on. Health Question & Answer

Generally I find you cant altogether, physical exercise can clear you're head, don't stay idle too long, or cooped up, fresh air helps. Limit you're intake of chemicals, particularly artificial sweeteners and colourants. A healthy diet and lifestyle. Sometimes a glass of wine. Watch less to no TV. Sleep well and that's about all I can think of, hope is some help.Health Question & Answer
