What are some things that cheer you up when you are sad and depressed?!


Question: What are some things that cheer you up when you are sad and depressed.?
Sometimes I can get sad and depressed. I can't sleep at all. I try to think about good thing's, and occupy myself with something until I fall asleep. Problem is I never can fall asleep, I have to really make myself go to sleep and that is really hard to do. Health Question & Answer

you could try looking at pictures of puppies online.

Solution: know why you are depressed and know how to solve it.

I don't really know what makes you sad and depressed, but when I am feeling down and alone on my bed, I try to imagine the type of person I want to be. I imagine myself being so prideful because I am so successful in life. I have a great house, car, family, and a great pair of puma shoes.

That's it. Close your eyes, relax, and imagine your goals in life.
I don;t know about you, but when I wake up, I feel very inspired and energized to get me to that goal.

Lol, yes because xanax will knock you cold out. Knowing what depression or where ya sadness comes from is the starting point. You must understand it and try to deter the mood to get to your true happiness. Most likely your not maniac depressed and you see hope in getting help. That hope is your path to happiness, again. You must find a motivation and a drive that you like in life. This is from psychology, whereas a desired benefit can create a drive which suppresses depression or even fades away. The worse feeling is being left just thinking and when you had a bad day it turns into negative feelings that can consume us. Don't let negativity get to you and bring more positive things to entertain yourself. In another view, Maslow's Hierachy of Needs is a theory that relates. It states a person must need basic needs to reach other needs in life, like a ladder effect. You must have food and water first, then shelter to feel safe, then love from others or any sense of belong, then feel social accepted, then social actualization which is empowering yourself through learning or similar things. Use these as your drives and keep religion, self-confidence, and entertainment abundant. Try watching sitcoms, reading a book such as "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey, do something creative like crafts or other hobbie, try improving current relationships or filter love into your life. There are things you can do, but it starts with your attitude towards. You must have a reason to feel good and start falling in love, with yourself. If you have anxiety when trying to sleep, its normal and a growing condition. Many take doctor's prescribed pills like "zannex" that helps with anxiety, but knocks you out.. some others take tylenolPM or even excedrinPM that helps you feel that sleepy feeling... some drink a shot of liquor or some read a book til they get tired of it... its all up to you to try different things. The doc will tell you write a journal to record your thoughts and solve the issues each day, but I say you must get in-tuned with yourself and manage entertaining and positive things in your life that give a natural high. I know how you feel, when I try to fall asleep at night when I'm sad and down (I'm sad a lot and my friends are trying to get me to take antidepressants, bu I refuse) I try to read, when I can't focus on that I listen to music, when that doesn't work, I just give up and go sleepless, and entertain myself till morning so the next night I'm positive, I'll be asleep. Other things I would do I i were you are going places with my three kids, no kid likes anything but to go somewhere, unless there like teens then that's a different story.Health Question & Answer

hmmm.
when i'm sad i listen to my ipod. put on some dancing songs and let it out. that makes me feel better. you could try doing that before you sleep. or talk to a friend and let out whatever it is that's stressing you out. Health Question & Answer
