Question: How should I react to this.?
Put yourself in this situation, you frequently miss school because you are depressed. You are depressed for no apparent reason at all, there's nothing wrong with your life. Consequently, nothing really makes your life happy either, you are however excited for a party that you are hosting coming up, and you know it'll be a great time; but nonetheless you're undeniably upset with no clue as to why.
You skipped school today and sign on to myspace seeing that someone commented your truthbox saying "You suck, why do you lie about your attendance.? I hate you."

I don't know how I feel about this, or what I'm supposed to do about the situation..

I'm glad I'm not a teenager. I would just ignore this person. Your depression is your own private business. The more you try to justify yourself to people, the more they will think you are lying and will try to manipulate you. What are you doing to try to combat your depression.? Do you work out, go see a therapist.? I hope you will find your way through this difficult time and come out shining.Health Question & Answer

You end up not graduating from high school and then you have to get your GED with a bunch of people whose IQs you just KNOW are 50% lower than your own, and then you end up feeling like $%&t because you are forever lumped with them, the dimwits.

Force yourself to go to school. And get rid of MySpace, it's lame.Health Question & Answer

Ignore what negative people say...take care of yourself and go to school. and have a fun party. it's not why your depressed it's how you handle your situation and please be more positive, this too shell pass. Health Question & Answer

I'm sorry you are having a hard time. You didn't say how old you are, but if you're a teen, then hormones can cause various levels of depression. Or, is it because of the season...winter will effect some people this way, it's called SAD (seasonal affective disorder).

Staying home is not the answer, as it will only keep you isolaed from everything and allow you to sink deeper into despair.

Try getting outside every day, take a walk, find a project you can do...(organizing your room, scrapbooking, etc.). Find something that you have an interest in, and dig in.

As for the My Space thing, you need to ignore rude and nasty people, because they'll be in your life off and on for the rest of your life. Not letting it get to you gives you power over it.

If your sadness continues, and you begin to feel truly hopeless, please talk to your parents, a trusted teacher or guidance counselor, a pastor...and ask them to steer you toward a place that you can get assistance.
