Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's long sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!

Question: Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's long sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!.?
Okay, I'm a 21 y/o female and have been taking meds for depression and anxiety. I'm going to talk to the nurse pract at my university today on the phone. I'm def going to request she taper me off my current meds paxil and wellbutrin they're not working. I'm sicker than before. I've missed a lot of class and somedays I can't get out of bed. also, lately, I've been suffering for constipation and vomiting. Ummm. not sure what that is from. The wellbutrin was causing me to shake in my sleep...my mom told me. The nurse prac. told me to stop it completely. I asked her would that make me sick; she said I should be fine. Well, I tried and I wasn't fine. I wound up sicker than on the meds, and had to just keep taking them. I went to accute care and they referred me to a psychiatrist that isn't accepting new patients. I went some places and called around and wound up at square one back with the nurse pract that's rude to me. Last time I told her the meds were making me sick; she said well what do you want to do, do you want to keep taking them. I just got a phone call from the nurse. She says the nurse prac isn't even there but should be in later today. She asked me what was going on. I told her and told her I wanted to be taken off both meds b/c they're not correcting the symptoms but just added side effects. She told me she'd tell the nurse pract. I'm sort of exhausted. I'm tired of having to talk to someone to talk to someone to talk to someone to talk to who I need to. This is the second time I've had to explain what's going on just today and the person that can help me isn't even there. I know this is long but I'm a really patient person, but I've been on meds for almost half my life and I'm at one of the lowest points in my life and the people that re PAID to help me act like I'm a bother. So what should I do.? Should I go off the meds completely.? Or is there a new drug out there that's effective for someone with very severe depression and anxiety.? I say new b/c I've been on just about everything now. I don't know why this stuff doesn't work or it just works for a few months and stops. Thanks so much for reading this and any info you can give me, I'm obviously lost.Health Question & Answer

I would not go off the meds immediately and cold turkey, but I would definitely taper. Let the people know what you plan to do; likely if you are adamant in telling them you are going to stop meds, they'll pay attention. Do a google on quitting paxil/wellbutrin. You'll find some very useful info.
Good luck!Health Question & Answer

**** man!!! who will answer its very long question.Health Question & Answer

I am suggesting you homeopathic medicines. This may sound silly, but these have great powers. For long, I have many problems, and I have been benefited quite a lot from these simple medicines.
First is Nux Vom. 30c, take five pills at bed time
Second is Bacopa Monniera Mother Tincture 5-10 drops or Bacopa Monniera 1x 5 pills at bed time. If you do not find it, take Damiana Mother Tincture 5-10 drops at bed time.
Take these along with your psy. medicines. After 1 week or so, you will start feeling better and can try to slowly reduce your psy. medicines.
If you benefit from the medicines I have told, you can also take them once more in the morning.

Apart from the above, I have other advices from you. For long, I have observed that morning(specially dawn) is natural healer of mind. Even if in the beginning, you do not find yourself being able to wake up early, try to wake up s early as possible. And then take a walk, or do some exercise. If you feel tired, take a very small nap in the daytime. also try to to go to bed before 10 pm.

I hope this would definitely help you. Even if it does not, please mail me at maji_himanish@yahoo.com. I think I will be able to give you good suggestions from my experience.

As a patient of depression, I know that getting interest in doing a work is very difficult for a person with depression. So we need to use the healing techniques which are most effective and avaiable free of cost from nature and change ourselves to know the joy of life so that we learn not to get depressed further or to get less depressed.

Have a nice time..Bye.Health Question & Answer

In all honesty I think you should take a look at your diet . A lot of times if you aren't getting enough minerals/vitamins from the foods you eat or if you don't have a regular exercise routine, depression and anxiety are often the side effects.
Try to balance these things out, go off the meds and see where you stand.
Good nutrition is key to health and happiness. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

What you need to do is get the hell away from a nurse prac who is prescribing your anti depressants. Bad move. She obviously doesn't know what she is doing especially telling you to quit your meds cold turkey. You should know it's not smart to quit them cold turkey. Find yourself an psychiatrist to prescribe for you. A new med, Pristiq is supposed to be pretty good. Health Question & Answer

I agree with a lot of what "Cyd" wrote. Good guy. I spent far too many years in the "poor-quality therapist / wrong meds hellish-go-round". In the early years, I didn't have enough of a reference point to know that I deserved better care and professional accountability, or what the standards of care looked like. What I eventually learned through painful trial and error was that this stuff is SERIOUS, and the consequences of not getting qualified help can range all the way into life threatening. I know this first-hand.

We know the power of meds. The right one(s) for an individual can produce miracles(my exp.) and the wrong one(s) can kill you(almost my exp.). You can't afford to make changes on your own, but you also can't afford to have irresponsible professionals apathetically-prescribe or "blind-exploration" prescribe. It's only my opinion, but I would suggest finding a qualified private therapist to discuss what has been going on over at least several sessions, for continuity, and asking for a referral psychiatrist known to the therapist for a med evaluation. Then track it w/ the therapist once a month or so. And after that, report your prior failure of care experiences to the proper admin. These people have ethical and legal responsibilities. You might save some one else's sanity or life. I wish you the very best of luck and I'll be thinking about you. Email "Cyd" and I'll see about getting my email open as well. Take care,
Edward

Oh, I almost forgot. Nausea is one of the known common side-effects of Welbutrin(& shakiness/lost sleep because it is a dopamine & norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor, and mild SSRI). Paxil put me in the hospital. Remember, that was MY experience, and everyone responds differently, but Paxil does have some pretty bad reviews. I have been on Celexa or Lexapro for ~7yrs now w/ excellent results. Just FYI, not a recommendation. Let the psychiatrist do his job. Good luck and keep walking forward.Health Question & Answer

I've been exactly where you are and I know how frustrating it is. The meds you are on do need to be tapered off or you get withdrawal symptoms that suck. When you mentioned severe depression and anxiety along with sometimes the meds work and then just stop a warning bell went off. When that happened to me that's when my psychiatrist realized I was Bi-polar we started a whole different kind of medications some worked some didn't I am now on the right combination and have been stable for about a year. I would urge you to keep trying to find a psychiatrist they could make a better diagnosis for you. You may want to mention this to your nurse practitioner and see if she can come up with a different type of meds for you to take. I know what a pain retelling your story is but keep telling it to anyone in the medical field you can until you get some real help. If you need someone to talk to or even blow off steam to feel free to e-mail me. CydHealth Question & Answer
