Worse until my body was weaned off them. But then better, or at least the same...I didn't want to be on drugs if they weren't helping me. I think it depends on your condition and the drug. My friend is bipolar and he has tried several times to go off his meds and always ends up in a huge depression then has to start over.
My depression was kind of temporary due to a painful divorce. When I went off the meds I didn't cut down my dosage slowly enough and I had a lot of side effects that made me a bumbling, emotional mess for about a month. But once the "with-drawls" were over it was totally worth it. Health Question & Answer
