Question: Am I becoming an insomniac.?
Every night I wake up and just stare at the wall, I usually don't fall asleep until, like, four thirty. Some nights I've gone the entire night without sleeping. I have these horrible dark circles under my eyes, my friends tell me I look terrible. School has been very stressful, I'm a perfectionist and a worry wart. I've lost weight, people tell me I'm too thin, and I feel depressed a lot. What should I do.?Health Question & Answer

I think you should ask your parents to take you to see a natural doctor who can test you for chemical imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, toxic build up, things like that. I too have insomnia, and I have an appointment to see a natural doctor who specializes in bioidentical hormones. I have not slept all night, I can't sleep and when I do fall asleep I wake up for no reason. I walk around all day like a zombie, so tired and I feel like I can't function. I can't wait until Dec 1st which is the day I have my first appointment with my new natural doctor, I know he is going to be able to help me. I am reading a book by Suzanne Sommers called "Breakthrough Eight Steps To Wellness" it has opened my eyes to the help is available to us besides the traditional prescription medication which is damaging to our health and will cause more problems in the future. I was told to turn down the lights at least an hour before going to bed, stop watching watch TV or being on the computer at least an hour before going to bed, drink chamomile tea, or Sleepytime tea. You don't do anything to help yourself if you go to a doctor. The problem not sleeping is your body is not shutting down like it's supposed to. Dark circles under the eye does not mean you are not sleeping enough, it means you have a problem with your kidneys. The kidneys are not cleaning the blood and the blood is pooling by gravity down below the eyes. Now, you can go to a health food store and find some body cleanses and kidney cleanses. Being a 'worry wart' means there may be a problem with your adrenal glands which are on top of the kidneys. So, the kidneys are the problem. Difficulty in sleeping is common in many people under many circumstances. If you can't fall asleep, try to determine the cause of your insomnia. Ill give you a list of the things you have to do.

1.) Cut down caffeine especially in the evening
2.) Please try to drink warm milk which contain a natural chemical that encourage to sleep.
3.) A warm bath
4.) Try some light exercise before taking a bath.
5.) Finally reading something you enjoy may help you fall asleep or watching television but avoid stimulating programs.
