No you're not weird, but if you don't sleep you will find yourself suffering in other areas. Sleep is very important for your long term memory and your attention span as well as your general health. You will find your marks at school will suffer and you will look drained and ill if you do not get a good amount of sleep. Everyone is different, and everyone requires different amounts, but the general consensus is that 6-8 hours a night are best. If you are getting that much sleep then that is good. Of course every now and again you can stay up late too.
You may be getting yourself into a routine that is hard to break out of, you can train your body to feel tire at different times if you stay up late for a long period of time you will get used to it and will not feel tired until later. That doesn't mean it's ok though.
A good idea would be to try burning off a little energy, make sure you spend time outside when you are with your friends, playing sports etc or something similar, that way you will feel ready for sleep earlier in the evening.
