I have a serious problem about concentrating on reading and in general. ?!
Question: I have a serious problem about concentrating on reading and in general. .?
I start reading but I cant focus or understand the material. Can anyone tell me a solution or theory as to why this is happening.? I eat well and I have good sleeping and exercising habits. Health Question & Answer

Most students try to understand everything at once. Wrong. Go through the material and highlight every topic sentence in yellow--only one sentence per paragraph, remember. You can then skim and see where the topic shifts to another focus. Take a pencil and draw a line across the whole page between those two paragraphs. You now have divided your reading into sections. Now comes the work, but it's simple because you are dealing with smaller and more manageable parts: on a separate sheet of paper, write a single sentence for each section that puts its point in a nutshell. You now will see the progression of the essay. Then look at paragraph 1--which sentence there sums up all the sentences you wrote.? That's the thesis sentence. You are now an expert critical reader. Go ahead and show this to a teacher--I taught college writing since 1969, and invented this method. All I can say is that it works, every time.
In studying for a subject like biology, do not sit there and grind away at every sentence. Read the first, second, and last sentences of every paragraph, lightly. Do it again. And again. Get up and do or read something else. Then read the bio again the same way, and again. By the time you've done it the fifth time, you'll say "I know THIS." Then get a good night's sleep. In the morning you'll drive yourself crazy again. Start the reading the same way and soon you'll see that you DO know it, and that you spent less time on it than if you'd done it any other way. It sounds like ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ). If you go to the doctor he/she could tell you for sure and prescribe some medication for you to take. You could also ask about a patch to wear that would help.Health Question & Answer

yes, me too. I'm a very good reader, I just can't concentrate on anything. I do have ADHD, and I believe that has to do with it.Health Question & Answer
