Question: What am i to do.? it's like god is challenging me.?
i suffer from anxiety but i'm trying to get over it slowly although i had my first panick attack at 15 and now 17 i'm still not good. I had a panick attack on the train and now i'm freaked out to go back. i have a new job and it requires me to get on the train ..i'm terrified although i can go on it with friends i can't get on it alone. plz help =[[[Health Question & Answer

I began to have panic attacks as a teen, also. I am now 46 years old and have developed some techniques that help me avoid full blown attacks.

One technique I use for a specific situation, such as you are experiencing with riding the train, is to use visualization to desensitize myself to the situation.

In your place, a couple times a day I would sit quietly and visualize myself walking into the station, seeing the train, walking onto the train, finding a seat, riding, and disembarking. While visualizing, take deep calming breaths and try to wrap yourself in a sense of well being.

Then, when faced in reality with riding the train, call that sense of well being back to yourself. Use deep, calming breaths to maintain your cool.

awe, i'm sorry, but the only way to get rid of these panic attacks is to do what you fear, because in reality what is the worst thing that will happen you get a panic feeling, you sit it out, you have to learn that nothing bad will ever happen to you having a panic attack, accept getting nervous, you can't react to the feeling when you think you are getting it. Just say to yourself i have gotten this feeling before, nothing bad has ever happened to me and that means nothing bad will happen to me now. Try blasting music that you like to get you distracted. I have social anxiety disorder and I can kinda relate to what your saying cuz when I'm alone, i tend to freak out a little in my head although i dont act it out. Maybe you can do something that takes your mind off the whole train issue. I like the idea of listening to music and focusing on the words of the song so that you don't think too much about other stuff. Health Question & Answer
