To all cannabis users/ex users: Did cannabis ruin your life, does cannabis enhance your life?!

Question: To all cannabis users/ex users: Did cannabis ruin your life, does cannabis enhance your life.?
Personally for me when first started it enhanced me! my creativity, understanding, made things more meaningful etc. But after about 9 months of heavy using it made me depressed, paranoid, introverted, suspicious and made me loose all meaning in things! the oppisitite to when i started. Took me awhile to be myself again, and ive had to totally quit now. becuase although i was not a heavy user again, i still had some now and then, and no lie it made me feel weird for weeks after! a perfect way to describe cannabis and its effect on me is the devils drug.
What are your opinions and expereinces.?Health Question & Answer

It messed up my mental health but I did get successful treatment. It is quite a funny drug to be on and have been using this year. Tbh I think it prob. does add something but you need to be carefull with it as if you have too much your whole world can come apart.Health Question & Answer

I personally think anyone that tries marijuana changes forever. It can be good or bad or neutral. I remember the first few times i tried it, it was kind of cool then i stopped for over a year and picked it up again but it also made me very depressed, paranoid, and introverted. Marijuana can sometimes cause depersonalization so that can suck too. I dont think marijuana ruined my life but i personally wish i had only tried it once or twice and stopped. If you dont like weed then you should stay away from all hullicinogens. Health Question & Answer

I know exactly what you mean.
I've spent too many years doing that.
I've smoked irregularly since I was 19. I'm now 35.
For me, smoking is both a blessing and a curse.
My opinion now is that cannabis, like most drugs, is helpful and can be a very interesting and enjoyable experience.
However, the thing with drugs is often people don't use them in moderation because they affect them powerfully in emotional and psychological ways and are too tempting to not indulge in.
Cannabis can be a very powerful way of debilitating and depressing yourself, especially if you don't use it in moderation, with self-control, and you don't have other important things in your life which require that you look after yourself.
Used wisely, it is great.
Used carelessly, it's bad. There are consequences.
What's important is making good choices and self-control.Health Question & Answer

I am 60 years old and smoke it twice a week. A few of us seniors here in our town get together to have a puff twice a week and all of us say we feel better for it, and it relieves some of the symptoms some of us have due to illness. We do not like having to get it from criminals and would prefer to get in supplied legally, but cannot.
We have found that to smoke it 24/7 is asking for trouble, much the same way as 24/7 boozing. We have a break from it for about 3-4 days and that renews our vitality.Health Question & Answer

I smoke marijuana and it didn't ruin my life, I'm going to University soon in Pre-Medicine so it hasn't demotivated me in anything. I usually smoke it at the end of the day when I'm done studying or whatever else important, so it doesn't interact with anything.Health Question & Answer

Don't let marijuana run your life.

If you get high only on the weekends, it remains fun and it's something to look forward to, trust me.

also, do it with friends, if you smoke weed by yourself you were probably introverted in the first place.Health Question & Answer

Most drugs will end up ruining your life. If you can't find pleasure in living within the reality of the world you will never find it on drugs. Health Question & Answer

It leads to mental health problems, I'm speaking from experience.Health Question & Answer

honestly its not a good thing after prolonged use.

i have basically cut it out of my life now but i smoked it regularly for a good two years and it definitely had a negative effect. it dulled my mind, took away my mental sharpness that did take a while to come back, made me paranoid to a degree, made me LAZY above all. it got to the stage where it was either choose weed or choose not to fvck up my university course and i'm glad i made the sensible choice.

i will smoke weed now and then, say if i'm at a party and a friend passes me a jay or whatever, but i dont buy it anymore because it basically puts my life on hold while i sit around in a haze, wasting time and eating till i start getting fat.

it doesnt have the devastating effects of say meth or heroin, but it without a doubt can fvck things up, it just does it in subtle ways. abusing it like i used to was definitely a sign that i wasn't happy and looking back i definitely did use it to escape things that i had weighing on my mind, and it doesnt do any good to ignore problems like that because weed doesnt solve anything at the end of the day.Health Question & Answer

That's what happened to me at first for like 6-8 months I could smoke anywhere anytime and it made me look at things in a different way like I understood or was psychic or something lol till...
...i dont even know I started getting SO paranoid and at first I thought it was just bad weed...a fluke so I kept doing it then had one really bad freak out and after that EVery time I smoked I got paranoid like I was unaware of myself doing stuff like talkin to myself and didn't kno it (when I was high) I though the cops where going to catch me...and more So I had to stop...and I think I had a withdrawal or somethin from it but now that I stopped and it has been like 5 months im straight now.

So for a while it ruined my life I have it made my depression worst and now I have anixity...Health Question & Answer

I smoked marijuana for years, i quit smoking it some time ago but i regularly use it (vaporisation) to sleep and to relax- ever since i stopped smoking i'm now a completely healthy, fit person who's likely to live as long as the rest of em, i'm also very happy in driven in my life- which i spend in a compassionate and rewarding career helping others. I also hold several degrees and continue my education alongside my career.

My experience with marijuana is that it is like any addiction in that people who are driven to escape- will use it to escape, they will likely abuse it, they will likely become consumed in its affects and become depressed. Marijuana has never been a focus in my life- just my recreational drug of choice, and just one option to reward myself after a days work and to make my play-time a little more interesting.

The only negative aspect of my marijuana use that i experience is that if i'm ever caught for it- like ten percent of the population (including politicians, doctors, nurses -even police officers)- my life will be ruined and i will be denied the ability to contribute to society in a meaningful way anymore. This would certainly make many people paranoid in and of itself and cause mental issues- but i've long since accepted that unfortunately this is the way of the world.Health Question & Answer

Your story is like a page out of my book. I think it made me feel dirty because it was illegal. I actually enjoyed it, but over time I just felt like a piece of sh*t. It was society getting to me. I was the first to give up the stuff, it was weird as hell to see my friends high, when I wasn't. All they did was sit around and complain about what they didn't have in life. It wasn't like when we first started getting high and everything was relaxed and fun. Eventually one of my friends started to have serious anxiety problems, he was told by a doctor to give it up. He did and no more panic attacks. I think eventually every pot smoker grows out of it, out of 20 or so people I grew up with that used it, none of them use it today. Even the die hards that thought they could not function without it. I do however believe in it medicinal advantages. I think that people who get positive results from using it even if it is just mental should have the right to use it. There shouldn't have to be compounding medical evidence to allow its use, just results.Health Question & Answer
