Oh my god, I can't keep going on like this! I need as many answers as possible and quickly please!?!

Question: Oh my god, I can't keep going on like this! I need as many answers as possible and quickly please!.?
I am 13, see my old questions for details. I'll make it short because I need to get back to my homework. Basically, I am clinically depressed, an 8th grader, seeing a counselor, and mildly suicidal. If there's such a thing as mildly. Whatever, I can hardly function, I'm afraid I will have a breakdown in class or something. As it is, I am getting over 5 hours of homework every night, but it always takes me around 7, because I can't motivate myself, or concentrate. I can hardly function, I can't deal with all this homework and school work! I am just trying to survive, and I am having so much trouble doing just that. But when you through on all this other stuff, like relationships and friends and family and school and work and homework...
I have been working on homework since 4:45 and it is now 11:15 at night, I am exhausted, crying, stressed, and I still have more homework to do. At least an hour and a half left. Don't give me this crap about getting off yahoo answers; I know. I am turning to you guys in my time of need, and I need answers. I don't even know what my question is! I just don't know how I am going to get all my homework done. This year keeps getting worse and worse, and I can't deal with my friends all coming to me for help with their problems, I can't keep up my peppy attitude that I used to use as a cover...I can't do any of this anymore! And I have tests everyday, projects everyday. It's not just me who takes a long time, everyone does. Parents are complaining right and left, but the teachers say that we are recieving a good amount of homework. Please just say something that will make me feel better, or better yet give me advice or something. I think I'm having a panic attack...Health Question & Answer

Look I am not going to claim to be christian I am not! I am wiccan, so with that said, I was just like you are right now at your age and worse. But this is not about me! I don't know you, but I love you! I'm am sending you a big hug right now!

Calm down and find someone to talk with. Your parents need to know how you feel. My daughter (your age) friend was just here he ran from his home because his father hits him. My home seems to be filled alot lately with kids with all kinds of problems. forgive yourself for what you cant do and tell someone why you cant do whats expected. Gods loves you and hears your call. He (She) will always put someone in your path you need. Take a break and does something that calms your nerves. Better yet find your parents and talk!

Everything will be ok. Just take the time to relax. you sound extremely stressed out. I know everything seems to be falling apart, but things will get better. you just have to relax. find a few good things that you enjoy to do. take a break from everything that stresses you out, and do something for yourself. have some fun. Don't worry about trying to please everyone. focus on yourself. and maybe think about talking to the school counselor or something about how you feel. they can really help. everything will be ok. just take one day at a time. relax and try to think positive. good luck hon.Health Question & Answer

I know it may be long, but read it. Ok honey, slow down. Despite the need to sounding cliche, take a deep breath. Try and calm yourself down a little, even if it is hard. I don't know if I can give you the right answer, heck I hope I can help, so I will try my best.
As to the homework problem. Is there any way to get a lighter load.? Maybe not. But as for the motivation and depressed side, I can relate easily. Although I may not be going to normal school as you right now, I only think it makes it worse. Right now, I'm homeschooled, and totally deprived of daily social interaction because of my location. Getting motivated to do homework or schoolwork on the computer is something I'm not very good at. I would supply more details, but this is about you. : The way that I've barely been able to survive in that area is to really prepare myself. I get distracted too much by friends, or the internet, so I try to find somewhere quiet, maybe with music, and make sure I'm not hungry or thirsty first. Those are big distractions. Try to have something to look forward to in each homework assignment(ok i know that sounds crazy, but it really helps me if there's something that can brighten it), or even a reward at the end of the homework; but not something that can get you off course.
Try talking to your teacher and explaining it.? I've tried this and it makes it easier to get everything done. also, the 'look forward strategy' really helps me. And even if the completion is the part to look forward to, that's a good thing.
Lol and if you wanna know distracted, one time, I sat for an hour straight just idly thinking while I had an essay to write. Not very productive.... Question: is there anyway you can do half at night and half in the morning so you can sleep.? That way you are on a time limit in the morning, you're up and ready to go, and your head is clearer.
As to your friends. Tell them to BUTT OUT. You need your space and time and they should respect it as well as find other means than leech off their overworked friend. Maybe saying it nicer would be a bit wise tho...hmm..
Everyone will come to a point in their life like this, many times. Especially students. it will be hard, I cannot tell you something that will make it disappear, but you will get through it. Life isn't something that you can just get by in, you have to prove yourself. There's a saying "Without one, there is no other." It means, without an opposite, some things don't exist. Like, loyalty wouldn't exist if there was no concept of deceit. You can't get the amazing sweet parts of life without a little effort. Breath. Please. For my sake, yours, and everyone around who loves you. Stressed is fine, but no one would want to see you this sad. Health Question & Answer

I'll give you my tips for dealing with depression. Some of these may help you. Sometimes counselors talk to you about your problems but forget to give you a few coping skills. Print this list out and try a few! also, make sure you are not striving for perfection in your homework. Make sure you learn the stuff, but the homework doesn't need to be perfect to do that. For tests, spend more time on the stuff you had trouble with, and not much time on the easier-for-you stuff.

also: Turn off the radio. You may think it helps, but it doesn't. It is a distraction, and will slow you down. Don't try to understand the math chapter until after you do some homework problems. The proofs or other theory will make no sense until you have done some problems. In science class, read the captions under the pictures and look at the graphs and charts first, then go back and read the chapter. Even scientists do it this way. When you write an essay, do an outline first. It may seem like it just takes more time, but it saves a lot of time in the long run. If you don't know how, a parent or teacher will know how and be flattered you asked.

Depression tips:

If your depression seems to be more of a problem in the winter, try to get more sun. You could have seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, or your depression could have a seasonal component, meaning you tend to have more trouble in the winter. A light box is really good if you can afford one (about $300 online, don't get it at a local store, they will charge more for a light less than 1/2 as bright). Since I will always have a mood disorder, I have put in extra windows, keep the drapes mounted so they don't cover them, make sure I spend a lot of time in southern exposure rooms, painted the walls peach and yellow. I even have a skylight (and I LOVE it, it helps a lot!!!!!)

Try meditation tapes like progressive muscle relaxation or guided imagery. They may seem silly at first, but they work!! They help reduce stress, which makes depression worse.
***** #1 MOST HELPFUL TIP Go out with friends, and if you don't have any, find a club to join and MAKE yourself go until you actually look forward to it. Isolation makes depression worse. I'm an introvert, extremely so, and I still need to get out with others.

Exercise at least 1/2 hour a day, and anytime you feel really hyper or depressed. Exercise is a great mood stabilizer and cuts down on anxiety a lot.

If your depression makes it hard for you to sleep, here are some good "sleep hygiene" tips so you can sleep better. Like go to bed and get up about the same time each day, even weekends. Don't use your bedroom to watch TV and read and use the computer and all that-just use the room as a bedroom normally would be used. Don't do stuff that pumps you up right before bed, like exercising and using the computer. You want to use that last hour to wind down-Take a bath.? Make the bedroom really dark, cover up the clock radio, even, so the light doesn't shine at you. If you live in the city, use a noise generator (makes wave sounds and the like) to cover up the city sounds. Avoid caffeine in the afternoon and evening.Try soundsleeping.com for free relaxing sounds downloads.

Put a lot of colorful things around the house, happy type things, and keep the blinds open and let the sun in. Get yourself some flowers. Put on some nice clothes. OK that was for the ladies, mostly. Make a list of things that make you happy. Here's some things on my list: A basket full of fluffy kittens, bread fresh from the oven, Fireworks popping on a warm summer evening, The first fireflies of the season, the scent of Jergen's cherry almond lotion, The crisp sound of a saltine cracker breaking, fresh sheets on the bed, standing in the boat flicking topwater lures out onto the water, etc. Use all your senses and read that list when you are breaking down
Work on time management if being overwhelmed and late for things and too much to do is getting to you. Cut back on other responsibilities temporarily so you can spend more restorative time with friends and family.

You got a significant other.? Extra physical touch is very helpful. Most people in the US or UK are touch deprived, so hold hands more, hug more, give shoulder rubs, etc. Etc. is a euphemism for you folks in an adult relationship. A pet is good to cuddle with, too, if your home situation allows you to get one. (I'm an animal lover, don't get one if you can't commit to it for 15 years) Take the dog out for a game of fetch, brush Fluffy, etc.
Make sure you are NOT listening to sad music! It is so easy to fall into doing that, but it makes things a lot worse! Listen to happy, upbeat stuff. Do the same with movies you watch.
Distract yourself when the hurting is at its worst. Read a novel, watch a comedy, go out with friends, play cards, play a videogame, whatever is mentally all-consuming. This is a VERY helpful tip that works!!
PS make SURE you are working on homework at school when there are lull times!Health Question & Answer

You can tell your parents as well as the principal that you are being assigned too much homework and you need a life besides school to go out and play with your friends as a 13 year old would. You remember your studies better when you walk away for a few minutes, studies show. It gets into your brain better. You study 15 minutes, break for 10. Don't do anymore homework tonight. Tell them you studied to almost midnight and need your sleep to be alert for school tomorrow.Health Question & Answer

I am 13 just like you! Homework sucks...thats for sure! Sometimes I get really frustrated over the amount of homework I have. You need to speak to your teacher, explain to her how you feel. o sweetie take a break! doing that much homework continuously would completely freak me out! it might take longer to do, but you should take breaks, or it will become too over whelming. have the parents taken this to the principle.? if not they definitely should, if they have and still nothing is happening, they should take it to the school board. this is insane, seriously, that much homework is just Absolutely ridiculous! if you get upset at school, i'm going to tell you something someone told me, sometimes you just need a break so try doodling or something, don't completely not pay attention, but it helps relax you and i think it actually helps you pay attention better, b/c when im too stressed i tend to not pay attention at all. so still pay attention, but if you get upset just doodle for a few seconds then go back to the lesson, and back to doodling when necessary, but don't let it get to the point where you don't pay enough attention to understand the material.
