Question: PLEASE HELP!!! 10 POINTS TO THE BEST ANSWER.?
First of all I complety undersatnd that you cant diagnose anything over the internet. I am just wondering what I can look at that I may possibly have. I cant handle acting like an idiot in front of my friends anymore. I am a 11th grade student and I do things like move my fingers alot, jump up and down, when I look at the computer my jaw drops alot, I get distracted very easily, I pop my fingers tons of times, I cant handle anny change, I have bad separation anxiety, I get parinoid over stupid things, I am constantly moving my legs, I open and shut my eyes more than I should, and I put my hands on my face alot. I cant control it. I know that it is not a panic attack, because I have already been diagnosed with that and thats not wha it is. I just want to know what may posibly have. And I am pretty sure that I have ADHD because I used to be on it when I was in 1st grade. Then they took me off of it and put me on Adderal which I thought was helping, then my mom decided she didnt want me on it. I dont understand because my brother has ADHD and we act alike but my mom kept him on ritalin. I dont understand.Once again I know you cant diagnose anything over the internet. you sound like you have Tourette's syndrome. The ghost thing is an after effect of sleep paralysis so forget about it. You are not sleeping well. Maybe your mother took you off Adderal because she could not afford it. Parents don't like talking to their children about money. I know you feel self conscious in front of your friends but they must know you can't always control yourself. If you still see a pediatrician it is a good time to see a psychiatrist or neurologist. When you describe your jaw dropping and your opening and closing your eyes a lot, that sounds like a neurological problem. I really hope you can get a new evaluation by a new doctor. maybe you have an anxiety disorder, not necessarily panic attacks. Social Anxiety possibly. It does sound like you still suffer from ADHD but as you get older Adderal and Ritalin don't work the same. If you look deep enough you will find mental problems in the most sane of people.

I agree you most likely have anxiety, maybe it is this that is making you restless.? These ADHD symptoms seem more of anxiety of a young energetic person.

Get your anxiety treated, ADHD is more than the things you are saying even though i believe you are trying hard to get us to believe and support your theory.

When your at the age you are at your hormones are changing so you have puberty happening, and at your age your feelings and thoughts are all over the place. And with all these motions happening with uncontrollable impulses, they could be nerves to ADHD to turrets syn drone . I don't know your age and if you are as young as you seem to me some times like me for example, there was a long time I couldn't stop falling over it was embarrassing how clumsy I became,then I couldn't stop laughing at at inappropriate times or I had to have everything in order and perfect. Have you ever researched Autism.? I am a behavioral therapist for children with Autism and a lot of the symptoms you expressed fall in that category. ADHD is often confused with Autism/Asburger's Syndrome, etc. and many times misdiagnosed. also, being a teenager is very difficult. If your behaviors do not effect your day-to-day life, there is no reason to change them. Most people have some "autistic-like" behaviors such as self stimulatory behaviors, separation anxiety, etc. If you are serious about changing your behaviors without medication...try simple Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) techniques, regulation strategies, and most of all, be patient with yourself. I think you are probably suffering more anxiety than your peers and whilst they have insecurities they are able to hide it better and deal with it in different ways. I think you should talk to a counselor who can advise and maybe suggest a suppport group where you can share your experiences with others like yourself. It may seem cliche but dont knock it til you have tried. Your doctor is the first stop and he/she will asses the situation, probably put your mind at rest and make your symptoms seem not so bad after all. We all have idiosyncrasies (some of mine would make you laugh and suggest I get certified..lol) You are growing up and it is hard and you probably need a little more support in coping than the next person. Perhaps your mother feared that if she puts you on medication that would mean that she has failed as a parrent twice and i think that the second time is what she cannot accept so by giving you medication would mean that she would have to admit that she is,in her mind at least,double the failure as a parrent.

Perhaps she simply does not want to accept that her second child is ill because she fears that if she does she will "loose"you too and that she will be left all alone.

I believe it is a combination of both fear of abandonment and parental pride.

I know of a way that has a very high chance of curing the mental illness that you probably have but you need to have faith.When every other road you traveled reached a dead end it is time to find a new road.
