Is there any insane asylums that you can visit in north carolina.? I dont care if they are empty or not.
I have this weird fascination with them and I have no clue why. They just amaze me. If you could help me out that would be great.

There is a old youth facility called the Stonewall Jackson School in Concord (near Charlotte).
It's not open to the public. There are signs saying not to drive on the grounds, but we did and even got out and look in the windows. No one paid any attention to us. There are several Victorian looking homes that the boys lived in, they are falling apart.
The history of the school is very limited but I do know that juvenile delinquents, orphans, etc were housed there. There were even forced sterilizations done to some of the students. It definitely has a creepy feeling to it.
There is also one, which I am pretty sure you can tour.

Study journalism/photography or film direction and visit as many asylums as you wish while filming a documentary. That should cure you of this addiction.Health Question & Answer

You can't visit asylums like a museum but if you are obsessed why not work at one.? Then you can go there everyday and get paid for it.Health Question & Answer
