I don't like drama and make an effort to not participate in gossip and such. However, friends and people in my life sometimes tell me things said about me or try to draw me into conflicts. It's hurtful and I can't not be emotionally reactive. I want to avoid all socializing. Why do people do these things to me and how do I take care of myself.?Health Question & Answer

You seem to actually like socializing, so you don't have to punish yourself by denying this because people aren't acting conform your own expectations. The mature thing might be adjusting. You teach people how to treat you, so the moment they start bad-mouthing anyone, just say stop, i really don't want to hear it!
True friends will respect your decisions and your feelings. It's better with a few good ones, or maybe even just one, then with a whole bunch of time losers in patty gossips.
And know, they don't do this to you, they're doing it to themselves, you are the one to raise above it, they stay down in the dirt and enjoy it. Remember friends and family can come and go, but you only have one you, so take care of that first, it is most precious. :)Health Question & Answer
