Question: Isn't this supposed to be a forum for answers.?
why do people say rude things instead of offer real advice.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Sometimes people go out of their way to make someone feel bad about themselves. By putting you [or anyone else] down, they get a boost of confidence themselves, since they feel they've accomplished something. Their victory is short lived though, since most people who answer rudely or hatefully do eventually get suspended and we no longer have to deal with them.

While most people are here to help or get general information, there are a lot who are here for their own "entertainment". And for whatever reason, they find picking on someone else, fun.

Keep in mind though, like the first answer stated, not all questions are here for help. Some of them are here to hurt people or say something that's hateful just to draw attention. There is a lot of "he-said, she-said" questions in P&S, where people will just post things like "Do you hate this user too" and then list reason why they hate the person in their "question". What's worse is the people who answer questions like these. If the people trying to be hateful stopped getting attention, they'd stop looking for it in hurtful ways.Health Question & Answer

I think they do it for stress relief, because they can't talk to people like that in real life. Or they are rude in real life and do it here just cause they enjoy it, because it makes them feel superior to everyone. Just like real life ignore it and go with the people who answer questions because they actually know what they are talking about.Health Question & Answer

Because sometimes people ask rude questions, or don't ask a question at all. The other day some guy posted a "question" that wasn't a question at all - just a rant about how gay people were sexually disordered.

The other possibility, of course, is that the answerer was a jerk. That happens, too.Health Question & Answer

Because of one or many of these facts.

1. The questioner was a jerk and/or asked an ignorant or offensive question
2. The answerer was a jerk.
3. The reply was humorous or witty, usually because of fact 1, or if not, fact 2.
