Will I Develop Schizophrenia?!

Question: Will I Develop Schizophrenia.?
I'm 14, and i have OCD and i think i have depression aswell.
I experience depersonalisation and i have deja-vu all the time.
I'm always sad, and i feel like i'm mentally unhealthy, like there's something wrong with my brain, but i don't know what.
If i don't get help soon, will i develop a serious mental illness like schizophrenia when i'm older..?.?
also, i can tell whether a TV is off or on, i can sense it (weird i know)Health Question & Answer

It's not likely that you will develop Schizophrenia later. Please you do need help now for you depression and OCD these are treatable and there is help. Do your parents know about all of this, you should be in treatment with a psychiatrist and maybe a therapist as well. I am sorry you are so young to be suffering. Only a psychiatrist can diagnose and treat you properly. Talk to your parents if you aren't getting help now. Have a Merry Christmas!Health Question & Answer

Ok, chances are you are not going to get schizophrenia when you are older, because in most cases you would already have schizophrenic symptoms. My uncle has schizophrenia so I know all about this illness. If you are experiencing depression consider consulting a psychologist. This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your brain, and you wont develop anything if you don't get help. Most mental illness are hereditary so there is no way of preventing them, only ways of treatment. The reason you can tell when a T.V. is on, is because you can hear the high pitch ringing that some T.V,'s make when turned on, most adults lose this ability around 30 because over time our absolute threshold of pitch decreases. You sound like you are just a little anxious nothing out of the ordinary. There is nothing wrong in seeking medical help if you feel the need.
Hope this helps.Health Question & Answer

I've never heard of developing MORE mental illnesses, ones that are cause by imbalances in your brain, from not getting treatment, though I'm also not a specialist. I suppose to lead a happier and healthier life seeking help from a therapist would be good. I have depression and OCD. I've gone to councelors and they've never told me anything like that it would progress to Schizophrenia, especially since the three have NOTHING to do with each other. But if you're looking for reassurance you could speak to someone.

And just as a warning, except to get some pretty rude and sarcastic answers to this question. Some people just aren't very nice! But I hope I was able to help you!Health Question & Answer

You'd have other symptoms if you were at risk for developing Schizophrenia.

However, if you don't get help, your depression and OCD will get worse and will become harder to treat. Depression and OCD can be just as serious as some cases of Schizophrenia, depending on the severity.Health Question & Answer

Honestly go talk to a therapist.. these are actually signs of schizophrenia.Health Question & Answer
