Your fear of needles and shots is purely psychological. It's true. The biggest thing about needles and shots is the fact that some times they can cause pain.

I've never really thought of having blood drawn or getting a shot as very painful, maybe because I'm experienced much worse.
Tell yourself it isn't going to be that bad, and that it will be over in no time. Tell the person administering the shot that you have a phobia, and that you may react extremely.
