Does this sound plausible to you?!

Question: Does this sound plausible to you.?
On a Friday you are having abdominal pain. You go to the urgent care. They tell you that you gave appendicitis and will need to come in for surgery on Saturday morning... You have the surgery at 9am on Saturday morning, and are released from the hospital later that evening. You are told by the doctor that you can go back to work on Monday.

If you were told this by a friend, possible love-interest. Now you have no reason to think they are lying, but this sounds a little iffy. I've never had appendicitis before so I don't know personally, but every website I've looked at says that they keep you in the hospital at least overnight to make sure there are no complications. And that most of the surgeries are done same day that they catch it that way they can get it out before it bursts.

Am I being too paranoid about this.. Oh and did I mention that we were suppose to go out on a date Friday night....he text me early in the day to tell me that he had appendicitis and about the surgery. His exact text message was "Guess who gets to get his appendix out in the morning :( "

The way I see it, I have two choices. I can either accept this and just reschedule the date and see if he bails again, or I can confront him about my feelings of uneasiness about this... what do you think.? And please only serious answers.Health Question & Answer

There are always conditions so give him the benefit of the doubt but don't expect too much. It is far better to be trusting than skeptical and sheltered.Health Question & Answer

It is very plausible. It happened to me. Sometimes if the hospital is really busy and its not going to kill you they will tell you to come the next day. Just reschedule. You are being to clingy and paranoid about this. You won't be able to keep up the relationship if you keep feeling like this every time he fails to make a date.Health Question & Answer

He is lying. First off they would have taken it out then or kept him there till they could. Second No Dr. would schedule a surgery on a Saturday.
My sister is an RN and my good friend is an ER nurse. I just called both. Plus my brother and sister both had the surgery.Health Question & Answer

you could very well be right, you gut is one feeling you should trust and follow, but to be fair, I would make another date and see what happens then, if he bails then confront him about itHealth Question & Answer

all i can tell you from friends with the same afflictions that tonsils and appendixes are alike a 12-48hr surgery, and most called "day surgery" So he may not be yanking your chain.....so relax and find out.Health Question & Answer

call him on it, ask to see his incisions/ stitches. i see flaws in this story. they would not tell him to come back saturday, they would keep him until the surgery.Health Question & Answer

Erm, easy just lift his shirt up next time you see him and look at the bottom right of his stomach if theres a scar he had his appendix taken out otherwise he lied =3Health Question & Answer

The procedure leaves a pretty big scar on the abdomin. Look for a scar and you'll have your answerHealth Question & Answer

Act curious about his surgery and make it seem like you want to see his scar.Health Question & Answer

The questionable part is the going back to work on MondayHealth Question & Answer

check for the stitchesHealth Question & Answer

Same day surgery can take place particularly if it was done laproscopically or through a key hole procedure. Going back to work early may have been his choice and not necessarily his Dr's recommendations.

Did he have any reason to lie to you.? Seems like an incredible excuse to use just to stand you up.

You have to ask yourself whether you really want to be with this man. If the answer is yes then you will have to give him the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. Stay with him long enough and you will eventually see the surgical scar if in fact he underwent surgery.

Good luck with it all but only you can decide what you want to do with this friendship.Health Question & Answer
