Does getting blood drawn hurt...?!
Question: Does getting blood drawn hurt....?
So tomorrow im going to get bloodwork done, and i know it sounds ridiculous but i'm scared to death because i have this fear of needles and stuff like that. I'm getting a tonn of things tested, so does that mean they have to take more blood.? And does that hurt more.? I'm sorry but im a nervous wreck lol.

Sympathies, my dear.
I know the crippling fear, Im terrified of needles.
Like seriously the biggest bunch of nerves going in.
It hurts for a bit, yeah unforch, but not too bad.
Its a bit of a pinch and it does ache a smidge, but its more psycholigical than anything else.
The great thing is, an experienced doctor will literally do it in a minute.
Last one I had, I had to have four tests, so that meant four vials. I looked away for about a minute, didnt even feel any more pain and she was done. She put on some cotton wool, you hold it on and thats it. I was do damn relieved!
I know the idea of it is awful, but it really wont be as bad as you think, when its over, you still sure-as-hell wont like it but you'll think "huh, that wasnt fun. But I still have my arm!"
Go with your Mom or someone so you can squeez their hand (I nearly broke my moms!) and it wont seem so bad!

Not to worry. It really doesn't "Hurt". You will feel a little stick when they put the needle in and they will only do this once. They may need to use more than one vial if you are having alots of test done. But try not to think about it. Most people get themselves all worked up and it just makes it worse. They talk themselves into it bothering them. Tell the tech that this is your first time, and if you just talk to them, it will help you to relax. Ask them about kids, pets etc, to keep your mind off of it.Health Question & Answer
i think you'll be happy to hear that, compared to shots, getting blood drawn is much less painless!

You have nothing whatsoever to worry about. If the staff see that you are nervous they will reassure you. The whole process is painless and you will wonder why you were worrying so much.Health Question & Answer
im a diabetic and i take four shots a day. but....BLOOD TESTS FREAK ME OUT OMGOMGOMGOMG. no they dont hurt really just a pinch and getting more tests just takes a second longer but i always pass out hahaha i advise not standing up immediatelyHealth Question & Answer
