Question: I feel really jittery, anxious and sick because of caffeine. I'm sensntive. HELP!.?
How do I get this out of my system or get some quick relief.? I guess I just have to let it ride out right.? I already drank alot of water, adn ate a big sandwhich, hopefully that does something to absorb it, this was several hours ago. I'm very sensitive to it andi hate a huge dark choclate santa all in one sitting, like an idiot, and then a few minutes later I felt a bit euphoric and excited and happy...followed by sickness, nausea, dizzinesss, rapid heartbeat, chills, fear//anxiety......and that has persisted, only now getting better to a degree.


What can I do in this case, and If i went to the ER, even though its a big silly for this, what can they give me


Can caffeine aggravate any other problems.?

The same thing happened to me one day a few months ago. I consumed a ton of caffeine one day and stayed up all night, I was well into the hundreds and hundreds of mg's of caffeine, I had to be cause I drank multiple, large 20oz travel mugs of coffee, and I made the coffee strong using like 3 heaped up teaspoons of instant coffee in each mug.

Around 6 or 7 in the morning when I tried to go to sleep, I couldn't, it was like my body wanted to but it couldn't. I started freaking out, I had a racing heart, chills, mouth watering, some kind of anxiety attack or something (I read too much caffeine can give you an anxiety/panic attack). This actually happened to me 5 or 6 times in the past few months but it wasn't until after this last episode that I put two and two together and tied it to taking in way too much caffeine.

It scared me so bad I thought I was having a heart attack or something, and I actually did go to the hospital, they checked my heart and everything, my blood pressure was actually pretty high I think, and pulse was too. They ended up giving me some drug to calm me down, and I slept a little at the hospital. When this happened to me before I actually drank alcohol to counter it (not saying I'm recommending that, but it does seem to work) but it was so bad this last time I went to the hospital. I have since then cut way back on caffeine and drink alot of decaf now, cause I never want that feeling again.This has never happened to me again since I cut way back, and started being careful how much coffee I drank.

There is probably some over the counter drug or remedy you could use besides alcohol to counter it I'm sure I do not know what it is though. Be careful how much caffeine you take in, it CAN mess with you!!! Yes it can also dehydraate you which also leads to sick feelings.Health Question & Answer

Here's another thing we have in common. I shake and feel so ill when I have caffeine, it's horrible to my body. I have suffered from anxiety before and I find having a diet that has caffeine in it, makes it so much worse. I have eliminated caffeine from my whole diet, I just do not touch it. We are all wired differently, you see some people drink 10 cups of coffee a day and they're fine and someone like me drinks one and I go all delusional then have a stomach ache/dizziness/anxiety. My anxiety has pretty much gone, ever since I changed my eating habits. I used to snack on chocolate, chips, whatever really and didn't even care what I put into my body. It took me a while to adjust and to eliminate that totally, but if I have to tell you one big honest thing here Brad, I tell you what as soon as you cut down or eliminate it, you feel brand new, I am not joking. You feel as though you have just had a makeover on the inside and so refreshed. After eliminating this crap from my diet, I look at chocolate/chips/coke in a totally different way. I have coke zero, no sugar and I have really adjusted to it and the thought or normal coke makes me sick!! I actually feel ill at the thought. I will still have chocolate on a special occasion, but I don't desire it like I used to because of the effect it can have on your body. I just hate it. My moods were angrier, I WAS moody for no reason and just unhappy in certain ways. Food has a lot to do with our mentality, I live my life through mind, body, spirit. It all works together. Try it. Don't go to ER, it's a waste of their time. You are the one eating the foods/drinks with caffeine so don't go begging to someone for help when you have casued this. This is why I have NO sympathy for people who go into ER who have taken cocaine/heroin/heavy alcohol because I think, god you are selfish. You put this into YOU and you have the nerve to take up other peoples time who are seriously ill with a disease/injury that was not self harm or accidental. Arseholes. Don't be an ********.
