Make sure you eat and then take it, or have a glass of milk with it. Sometimes drinking a good amount of water when taking medicince can help offset some of those other side effects.

I've never had heartburn from amoxicillin, but I was recently prescribed Celebrex and that gave me such horrible heartburn/acid reflux I stopped taking and called the doc to take something else instead.Health Question & Answer

Hmm very interesting question!
I never heard of amoxicillan causing heartburn, but i would not be surprised if it was the cause
Many medications have many side effects, some dangerous, and some not. For example: sleeping pills may help you fall asleep, however it has a side effect: It can make you sleepless
There are also some unknown side effects of medicines, (especially the newer ones...)

Here's what i suggest you do: avoid all acidic foods (citrus fruits especially oranges, lemons, and grapefruits) and when you lay down to go to bed, prop your head up on a couple of pillows, that usually helps because then you have gravity on your side! :) and the food wont reflux into your esaphagous, it will stay in your stomache
If you still have problems, mylanta/pepto bismol/tums are great medecines to releive heartburn
Good luck!Health Question & Answer

Yes, which is why a lot of meds say to take with food or a glass of milk.Health Question & Answer

yes to prevent them you need to eat something at the same time you have the meds.Health Question & Answer
