What is the interpretation when the doctor says, " twice a day or 3 times a day," when he prescribes medicine?!

Question: What is the interpretation when the doctor says, " twice a day or 3 times a day," when he prescribes medicine.?
When you take medicine with the instruction, "twice a day," does this mean that your 2nd dose will come only after 12 hours; or does it mean that you are to take your medicine once in the morning and once in the evening.? How about 3 times a day.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
when a doctor says twice a day it means take a tablet one in the morning and one in the evening when they say 3 times a day they mean one when you get up one at lunch and one before you go to bed.Health Question & Answer

2x per day would be every 12 hours in a perfect world. 3x would be every eight hours. But if you're plus or minus a couple hours it won't hurt anything unless your doctor specifically says EVERY 12 HOURS OR YOU'LL DIE.

But your Rx sheet will say that if you miss a total to NOT double-up.Health Question & Answer

IT MEANS THAT YOU SHOULD TAKE IT TWO TIMES FROM MORNING WHEN YOU WAKE UP, TO EVENING WHEN YOU GO TO SLEEP FOR THE NIGHT. BUT DON'T TAKE ONE AFTER ANOTHER DUDE, SEPARATE TIMELY /EVENLY BETWEEN TAKING...Health Question & Answer
