Answers:
there are risks that can be inflicted on you when being involved with donating blood. the first thing is yes MRSA, though it is not very common. Make sure the blood bank you go to is registered and make sure to ask if everything 100% sterilised/clean. I also advice you to take a trip to your local GP (doctor) and talk to them about it and maybe even get a blood test if you havent had one before. This is because there are certain qualifications you have to complete before you can donate blood.

These are :

1 - between 17 and 65 yrs of age
2 - no chesty cough or cold
3 - are not pregnant or have a baby less than 9 months old
4 - are not taking anti biotics or have in the last week
5 - not have hepititis or jaundice in the last year
6 - no piercings, permanent make up, tattooing, acupuncture in the last 6 months
7 - have no people in your family suffering from CJD
8 - not have HIV, or be a carrier
9 - not have injected any illegal drugs in yourself before
10 - not have any huge infections or imunisations in the last 2 months
11 - not have stayed outside the UK for 6 months or more
12 - you also have to weigh over 50kg (7st 12) to give blood

good luck!!Health Question & Answer

There are very few risks to donating blood. It is done under a sterile procedure so there should be little to no risk of acquiring an infection from the needle.

You may have bruising or bleeding from the needle insertion. Some people also may feel faint after need to lie down for a while or have someone else drive them home.Health Question & Answer

Well I am 17 and have donated blood and for me it wasn't pleasant but that didn't stop me doing it.
I faint/seizure but that's my own problem, generally it's a good experience.Health Question & Answer

yes there are risks. But if you go to a well financed facility doing blood letting it will be much safer.Health Question & Answer
