Question: Death Row prisoners.. Should they be required to donate organs if they are found to be a match.?
Since they are on death row, they are going to die anyway. And organs matches are already hard to find. I wonder what the complications of making this legal would be. I understand that the execution is supposed to be part of the "punishment" but isn't death enough anyway.? And there are people who die everyday because they cannot find matching organs - Innocent people at that. Since these prisoners have most likely murdered some kind of innocent victim wouldn't it just make things equal.?

You pose a great question. I think though that the major drawbacks on this would be because they are on death row, if that state has electrocution, lethal injection, gas chamber, etc. The organs would be no good because they are either fried or poisoned & not be able to be used. Very little states do hangings now and if so, you'd need a medical team there at the time which would incur more costs & such.Health Question & Answer
i'm not sure why people don't donate organs, maybe i am ignorant, but of all the reasons i've heard personally it seems selfish not to. we are all going to die, and what good are our organs buried in the ground anyway.

They should not be required to, everyone is going to die sometime, and they aren't required to donate organs. Maybe they could be asked before they are executed, but i'm not sure how many murderers would want to save peoples lives by donating their organs.Health Question & Answer
Interesting thought. Although, personally I would not want some mass murderers body parts being used on me or mine. I just do not like the thought of it. Let thier bodies be used for scientific study would be a good idea though.Health Question & Answer

yes if there execution is coming up but i don't his it should be hurried along just so they can donate organs b/c some death row inmates having been proven not guilty after dna and such

That is an interesting question, but frankly I would not want an organ from an inmate on death row....but that's just me!
