It is very common to have stress as a teenager. That is an extremely stressful time! Your mom telling you that you are too young is only adding to your stress. Get some information on ulcers for you and your mom to look over. This will ease both of your minds. If your doctor is monitoring this condition, you are half way to recovery. Find an outlet for your stress. Music, meditation, exercise, a relaxing hobby, reading a book, a good diet, and plenty of water will also help. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

It really depends on the composition of the lining of your stomach, and what types of foods that you have been eating...
If you eat a lot of junk food, spicy foods, hot peppers, and so on...
and back that up with a lot of sweets, cakes, candies....
and before you know it you eat alot of bitter foods - pickles, olives, salty or flavored chips... and so on...
It's easy to see how a stomach can get irritated.
BUT...
It could also be a chemical imbalance that causes your stomach to produce too much of certain chemicals/ alkalines / acids when it doesn't have to...

When in doubt, Trust YOUR Instincts, not your Moms.
Let you doctors advise you.
After all, You have to live with it - not your mom.Health Question & Answer

Research says that ulcers are caused by bacteria. At any age (don't know yours) this is possible.

Treatment is fairly simple. It is a 10-day course of medication. Your doc knows best.

Is your stool black.? Then, yes you have ulcers or internal bleeding. This is why they did colonoscopy because your stools test came back as positive for blood in them. It is the rule now that colonoscopy should be done, regarless of age if your stool shows blood during tests.

So yes, age is immaterial for what you describe.Health Question & Answer

Lol, I do not know how old you are! But your teen years is about the youngest people usually start to get ulcers. I know a girl who started getting them at 14 or 15. It is a stress induced thing usually, and teenage-ness can be REAL stressful!Health Question & Answer
