Ear Pain When Blowing My Nose....?!
Question: Ear Pain When Blowing My Nose.....?
When I blew my nose this morning, I felt a very sharp pain in my left ear. I immediately stopped, grabbed my ear, and the pain went away. I tried again, but very gently, and the same sharp pain occurred. What is this.? Do I have a punctured ear drum.? Is it an infection.? Aside from blowing my nose, everything is completely normal. I have no other pain, there's no blood coming out and my hearing seems fine. I tried to blow my nose a few hours later, and then again tonight, and still had the same sharp pain. Please help. I don't have insurance to see a doctor. PS - I did not suffer a blow to my ear, nor did I hit my head, nor do I have a cold.Health Question & Answer
Answers:
This is normal, your ears are linked by a tube to your throat which is liked to your nose. When you build up pressure in the nasal area it can go into your middle ears. Blow your nose a little less hard next time.Health Question & Answer
to add to Jia L...don't SQUEEZE your nose when you blow it, or you back the junk up into your tubes. If you have a cold.. you might have an ear infection starting - even if you DON'T have a cold you might have an ear infection. I get them with no cold.Health Question & Answer
