Question: Is it painful to die of hypothermia.?
Just curious. I've heard different things, such as it's painful at first but then you go numb and fall asleep and of course never wake up. And how long would it take.? I've heard things from 20 minutes to 4 hours.Health Question & Answer

you get really really cold, and your body slowly shuts down.
u won't be in too much pain. You will go numb pretty quickly, and eventually u will get really tired and just fall asleep.
then u go unconscience and die.

How could you tell if what people are saying is true.? If they claim to know, then wouldn't that mean they would have had to get it, and thus died.? As you can see, this is impossible. If I had to guess, I would say it is painful at first, but as it progresses, you would indeed begin to lose feeling. However, I would think that you would just lose all your strength and simply die.Health Question & Answer
I don't think it would. your body is shutting down. maybe once your lungs stop. you go numb, so stuff is burning like when you get out of the cold. I guess the length depends on the amount of time until your body finally shuts down and you die.Health Question & Answer
that's what i've heard too, that it hurts like when you hold an ice cube for too long. then after awhile your organs and brain start to shut down and your heart beats slower, and things get number and calmer i imagine. and it really depends on how cold it is i suppose. i hope you're not planning on dying from hypothermia! :)Health Question & Answer
