Hi, I got the cartilage of my ear pierced in November and have only just been able to remove the stud. However, I now have a large lump on the back of my ear which I believe is a result of the stud being too tight. Will this lump eventually go down or am I stuck with it for the rest of my life.?Health Question & Answer

it sounds like you either have a granuloma or a keloid.
if you have a granuloma you can soak it in warm sea salt water a few times a day and see if it goes down.

It should have gone down by now. It isn't harmful but it is probably anoying to you. You can ask your doctor to remove it and he should be easily able to with just a local anesthetic.

That happened to me and it is called a keloid , I don't know if it will go away naturally because I ended up picking mine off (gross I know ) but now it is gone and hasn't come back.Health Question & Answer
