Will I Be At A Higher Risk For Infection If I Volunteer In A Hospital Pharmacy?!

Question: Will I Be At A Higher Risk For Infection If I Volunteer In A Hospital Pharmacy.?
Over the summer, I plan to volunteer at a hospital, (mainly in the pharmacy dept.) The only thing is, I am afraid that being in a place enclosed with so many germs and sick people, will put me at a higher risk of contracting a deadly disease, or just some kind of sickness in general.

Is this true.? If so, how can I prevent myself from becoming infected.?

Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I've been volunteering at a hospital for more than 5 years, and I get sick even less than before I started volunteering. Volunteers aren't allowed to go onto the units that have been quarantined, patients who have contagious diseases have either masks or stay in their rooms. And, a lot of the people who are in the hospital just don't have a contagious disease/illness.

The biggest thing you can prevent yourself from becoming infected by washing your hands often.

So, no, you won't be at a higher risk for infection.

Anymore questions, feel free to ask!

--- Oh, and there is the risk of needlestick exposure, but the risk of that is as low as it gets. Just wear sturdy shoes and don't be an idiot :)Health Question & Answer

Be heathly, eat right foods, take your vitamins, don't let the germs find any flaws(like not brushing or not washing your hands right) to get into you.

Awnser mine.?
