Dumb question: Lodged in my throat?!

Question: Dumb question: Lodged in my throat.?
I inhaled a bit of taco shell last night and got a piece lodged in my throat. I got it out, I believe, but the sensation is still there and of course it's painful.

How to make this pain go away.? Has this happened to you.?Health Question & Answer

Honestly, that isn't a dumb question at all. What you can do to alleviate the pain is use some liquid children's formula benadryl or chloroseptic throat spray (either will soothe the irritation). This has helped me in the past when I've gotten something caught. If you still feel this irritation after a few days, I would suggest seeing your primary doctor to make sure no damage was done to the delicate tissues in your throat. I hope you feel better soon. If, as is most likely, you've just scratched your throat, it will heal pretty quickly - within about 48 hours I'd expect to feel virtually 'normal'. If it doesn't, see a doctor as there may be more than superficial damage. But I know from experience that getting a scratch in the throat feels HUGE and very painful - it just doesn't last long.Health Question & Answer

I have had that happen. If it doesn't stop in a day or so, go see the doctor. You can get a sliver embedded in the tissue. Your body will work it out but it can take a long time. Keep eating, drink hot tea and lots of liquids. The hot tea can help if there is still a bit stuck in there.
Edit
Not too hot on the tea, just normal temp.Health Question & Answer

You probably got some scratches on your throat, from the chip. You'll just need to give it time to heal. Maybe you could buy some Cepacol lozenges. They have a numbing agent in them, which may help to relieve some of your discomfort. Just give it some time though, I'm sure it will feel better in a couple days. And quit inhaling your food! Chew then swallow. LOL!Health Question & Answer

Eat a bit of soft bread, washed down with milk

If that doesn't work you'll need to just wait till it goes away by itself you may have scratched it or something

Hope it gets betterHealth Question & Answer
