Can cunnilngus really be fatal?!

Question: Can cunnilngus really be fatal.?
I watched this weeks episode of South Park (hillarious episode, I don't care what IGN says), and I decided to research queefing, which brought me to the Wikipedia "Vaginal flatulence." This is a quote from the current Wiki article

"Air which is forced into the vagina, especially by blowing in order to cause vaginal flatulence during cunnilingus, can cause an air embolism. This is a potentially life-threatening condition for a woman and also for her child if she is pregnant at the time.[4]"

That statement really caught my by surprise. Is this really possible.? Are there any cases of death or miscarriage as a result of vaginal embolism.? Something makes me think this cannot be possible.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It s possible, and there have been reported cases of it.

It makes sense if you really think about it. I'm thinking maybe you misinterpreted what the article said. An air embolism is formed from air traveling inside the vagina and further into the body, not from queefing / expelling air from the vagina. I don't see how this could be fatal. A large air embolus can be fatal in the bloodstream, but the vagina is not the bloodstream.

If anything, excessive air in the vagina, and by extension the uterus, might put her at a higher risk for infection.Health Question & Answer
