Why do Mosquito bites itch?!?!
Question: Why do Mosquito bites itch.?!.?
me and my boyfriend got in an argument because i thought i heard somewhere that something in it's saliva that makes it itch but he disagrees...... what is it.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
It is something in their saliva.. The saliva (containing enzymes) injected when a mosquito bites causes our bodies to produce a histamine response.. We have a slight allergy response, and thus our skin around the bite area gets itchy..
(Histamine is a protein involved in many allergic reactions)..
Some people develop more serious allergic reactions, but this is less common..Health Question & Answer
