I must admit I got a bit depressed just before I turned 40 last year, only because I remember school and teenage friends like it was yesterday, where has 22 years gone.? Will the next 22 go as fast.?
Then I felt guilty and a little selfish as lots of people die or become really sick before they reach 40 and they would happily swap with me.. I'm healthy and have a roof over my head.. So I got over myself and got on with life..

hey i'm 44 left my husband 2 years ago after 20 years together, have had a boyfriend who was 23 and one who was 37 and just got back from holiday where I was chatted up by a 25 year old.. You're still the same person you when you turn 40......exactly the same as when you're 39..
Some people see it as a milestone in life but i don't know why - it's only like turning 39 etc.. You're not suddenly gonna look all old an wrinkly because you're 40.. Besides, you might still have another 50 years to come..

as they said on Friends, it's better to be over the hill than to be buried under it.. don't worr about it, 40 is like the new 20.. and it's not like you're going to wake up on your 40th birthday and feel any different from the day b4, when you were just 39..
