Question: How to get rid of common diarrhea.?

I don't no why but i have had diarrhea basically everyday for like a year now, and i really want to stop it, i was recommended tum tums (some kind of tablet i think) but what exactly do they do.? and are they just for diarrhea.? or are they for most things.? and can you take them like everyday.?
