Question: Have you had your gallbladder removed.?

I had mine removed around 4 years ago. The surgery itself went fine and I was back to work after about a week. I did however have a hernia form where my surgery took place (right around my bellybutton) and had to have that surgically repaired about two years later. also my stomach can quickly become "upset" after a meal (this is my fault because I didn't change my eating habits). But anything is better than having those gall stones.

Everyone in my family (Mom, Dad, Sister & Brother and I) have had out gallbladders removed. Mine was removed so the Dr can do a surgery that could not be done with a gallbladder in my body, nothing was wrong with mine but the rest of the family all healed pretty quickly except my brother who could not have the laser surgery but they all ended up having diarrhea for up to 6 months after their surgery. They eat what they want with no problems. I never had any problems since mine wasn't bad and never had diarrhea but mine was removed for the prevention of infection for a surgery I have to have soon.Health Question & Answer
my mom got it.. and i asked her how she felt and she said she was fine. Just a bit of pain afterwards and she ate a little less at first, but other than that, her life continued on normally.Health Question & Answer
I was in a lot of pain before I had my gallbladder surgery, after wards I found out what normal was. No diet change and the incision from my Lazer surgery was only about an inch long. Pain free!Health Question & Answer
