Feeling cold all the time?!
Question: Feeling cold all the time.?
What medical conditions could cause a person to feel constantly cold.?
I know low iron levels in the blood can cause this effect but in my case it seems unlikely. I don't eat much red meat but do enjoy other iron-rich foods like spinach, almonds, dried apricots etc.
Thanks.Health Question & Answer

Hypothyroidism (Myxedema) is a condition that causes the patient to be cold all the time. It's a condition that basically inhibits the function of the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland produces various hormones (T3, T4, TSH) that the body needs to carry out various functions. Some other indications would include weight gain, a puffy looking face, fatigue, dry and brittle hair/nails/skin, and a loss of the lateral 1/3 of your eyebrows. If you're experiencing at least 3 of these then you most likely have a thyroid issue. It can be managed and isn't a serious condition as long as you get it under control.Health Question & Answer
