Certain fizzy drinks cause strong stomach ache... why?!

Question: Certain fizzy drinks cause strong stomach ache... why.?
Hi folks,

When I drink certain fizzy drinks e.g. Fanta Orange, Sprite, Fanta Grape, I get a strong stomach pain a few minutes later.

Obviously I avoid them, but am curious as to why I get this pain. Any ideas.?

You are probably a blood type A. they have more problems with fizzy drinks. The purpose of stomach acid is to break down food. when you drink carbonated beverages it interferes with your digestion, so the acid products stay in your stomach longer and therefore decay in the wrong way producing indigestion. The orange and grape also have food dye in them and you may be sensitive to those.Health Question & Answer

All Fizzy drinks are carbonated, and contain compressed gas, large amounts of this gas remain in the drink until after you swallow it, causing gas to build up in you stomach. this causes pain, and in somecases, you might find your self on the toilet, relieving that pressure.Health Question & Answer
