Because cigarette smoke is full of toxins, tars, and other crap. You're inhaling carbon monoxide, which binds with hemoglobin in your blood and displaces some of the oxygen that would get to your brain. Essentially, you're partially starving your brain of oxygen, in addition to dumping all that other crap into your lungs.
