Cleaning your ear wax out with q-tips is dangerous. When you stuff the q-tip into your ear, you are cleansing it out by force of friction, but also shoving more wax further into your ear. With enough time and build-up, this can cause ear infections and other inner-ear problems. You could also potentially push too hard and stab a precious device in your ear, like your ear drum, etc. Have you noticed any patterns in ear- related illnesses.? Could be why.
I don't use q-tips because of this reason, instead I allow water to fill in my ears and rinse them out that way in the shower, and also by just "massaging", if you will, my ears with a towel.
