Medicaid is intended to assist folks with needs their families have. There are financial guidelines for inclusion into the program. They provide money, help with rent, help with health issues, etc. Medicare is a tax which is taken out of paychecks one receives when they work. When a person retires or quits working due to an injury, they can apply for Social security benefits and part of that is the medicare benefits. They provide an insurance of sorts to those receiving SSI. They are only a help as there are multi and costly deductibles. It does indeed help though. All programs have guidelines and the ones for medicaid especially are hard with their very low financial means tests.Health Question & Answer
