If you've had RK surgery, help please?!

Question: If you've had RK surgery, help please.?
I would love to stop wearing glasses but I'm nervous about surgery and squeamish about anything coming near, much less touching my eyeball. I can't even wear contacts. How bad was the RK experience for you.? because if I have to be awake while they work on my eyes, I'm just not sure I could handle it. Health Question & Answer

I had mine done about 4 years ago. I even had to have a touch up. Trust me, you feel absolutely nothing. The only discomfort is the device they put on your eye to hold your eye lid open and that's nothing. My girlfriend even got to watch. It is simple and over in seconds. I am so glad I had it done. I talked other members of my family into it and they love it too.Health Question & Answer

I had lasik. With laser surgery they do not touch your eye but the laser does. It is uncomfortable but it is very very worth it.

You do have to be awake for it. No choice there. They give you a Valium to relax you but they won't give you anything heavier because you have to be alert.

Just do it. It'll be over before you know it and you will see perfectly. It's been 6 years for me now.Health Question & Answer

I wore contacts, so I wasn't as squeamish as you, but it went really well. They give you a mild sedative, so you're pretty relaxed.

I went from 20/400 to 20/40 within minutes, and it was 20/20 by the next day. Definitely worth it.
