Serve her slippery foods without a lot of salt. Jello, yogurt, pudding, ice cream popsicles, if you are worried about nutrition, get some Carnation instant breakfast, you can mix it with milk or even ice cream if that works better. Try getting her to eat about twenty minutes after giving her pain meds. also pay attention to whether or not she is having a hard time having a BM because pain meds and cause constipation. Just keep offering her soft foods and a variety of her favorite not so soft foods. Eventually she will go back to her normal diet.

Her throat may still be a little sore but most likely she is just using this as an excuse to manipulate mommy and get attention. Yes, five year olds are experts at this. Once she sees you are going back to to the regular diet and routine she will no longer employ this device to get attention.Health Question & Answer

Ice cream and Popsicles are about the only thing you can.. maybe jello and pudding. Once the throat heals she will be fine again. Don't push the food until she is ready.. one day she will ask for a hot dog or a hamburger or fries.. that usually tempts kids once they are feeling better.Health Question & Answer

Yogurt, soup with noodles, jello, cream of wheat, and popcicles, and ice cream.

Pancakes are also soft and most kids like pancakes with syrup.Health Question & Answer
