Question: What type of doctor has the most holistic approach when dealing with RSI problems.?
I'm trying to decide what type of specialist to go to. I had numbness in my hand and now it's extended all the way up my arm (not constantly, only when I'm doing certain things like reaching). At first I thought it was Carpal Tunnel. Now that it's not confined to the hand I'm not so sure about that. I've read up about RSI a little bit, and the treatments are so various (surgery, massage, physical therapy, etc etc) that I don't know what type of doctor to go to.Health Question & Answer

You would do best to start with your primary care physician (a general practitioner or an internist). He/she can start you off with referrals to physical therapy or occupational therapy. Once the extent of your injury is determined, then the PCP could refer you to an orthopedist if needed.Health Question & Answer
