Doctors Office Annoyance? ?!

Question: Doctors Office Annoyance.? .?
I recently had an appointment with a neurologist, it resulted in the doctor suggesting I go to an ENT and get scheduled for an MRI, well talking to the secretary she told me they have to call my insurance and make sure its accepted and then call me to make an appointment.

I told her they didn't need to call my insurance because I don't need referrals but she insisted I did. So... I wait, it has been 4 days, now I have 24/7 headaches for no reason known yet, so yeah I am a little grumpy but I called my insurance company and asked them if they had been contacted by the nuero. office.. 4 days and they haven't even called (4 Business days!)

Am I over reacting or just expecting someone to actually do their job.?

Answers:
You're NOT over reacting, and they're either sloppy or lazy - either they forgot, or are just diddling around.

Call back and complain... and then keep calling until they take care of it.

Actually, there's no reason why they can't call the insurance company while you stay on hold and wait for an answer.

(BTW, are you sure the office was open all four days.?)Health Question & Answer

No, you are not over reacting. Four days is a ridiculous amount of time to wait. If you are being sent to an ENT and don't need a referral, then make your own appointment with that Doc. If you are waiting for an OK from the insurance company regarding your MRI, then yes, absolutely you have a right to be upset. That is just as ridiculous as waiting for a referral you don't need. Go ahead with the ENT appointment and let the ENT see if he needs an MRI. Health Question & Answer
