My left ear lobe is swollen?!
Question: My left ear lobe is swollen.?
My left ear lobe is swollen and tender. It looks red, feels slightly warm to the touch and has a very hard spot in it about the size of a pea. The tenderness goes all the way to where my ear lobe connects to my face. I do have pierced ears but have not worn earrings in 6+ months. This started Monday morning when I woke up. It hurts to touch my ear lobe at all and I cannot sleep with my left ear on my pillow. Any ideas on what this could be or what I should do about it.?Health Question & Answer

Could be an infection of some sort. Sounds like it. I'd go to the doctors and get it checked out if it doesn't improve soon. Like in the next day. You may need antibiotics. Could just be something as simple as a pimple though. I've gotten one once on my ear but I could tell thats what it was. Still hurt like crazy though.

It sounds like a boil. I had a similar problem before. I just suffered and messed with it until it finally popped. But the right thing to do would be to go to the doc and have it lanced. If you squeeze it yourself you run the risk of it popping inside. In other words, releasing that poison pus right into your system. Good luck.Health Question & Answer
